Linq Healthcare have been asked to recruit a nurse to work on a full time, permanent basis at a drug and alcohol inpatient service in Birmingham.

Patients are admitted to go through a 2 – 4 week detox programme before moving on to a residential or community setting where they will get further therapeutic support.

As a nurse, you will be involved in delivering the interventions that encourage service users to realise their potential as well as delivering the clinical aspect of the detox.

This is a varied and challenging role where new patients arrive regularly who will need assessments and physical and mental health checks before commencing their detox. You will work with the MDT on the 18 bed unit to establish clinical pathways for patients who have a primary issues with:

– Opiate use such as methadone and heroin
– Alcohol
– Benzodiazepines
– Non-opiate drugs such as crack cocaine, legal highs, etc.

In order to apply for this role you must be a registered nurse, with experience or a keen interest in substance misuse, and be able to work shifts.
